Cauayan, Isabela – In celebration of the 2026 Araw ng Kasambahay, the RTWPB-II joined the Department of Labor and Employment–Isabela Field Office and the Public Employment Service Office (PESO) of Cauayan City in organizing a full-day activity recognizing the invaluable contributions of domestic workers.
More than 100 Kasambahay from Cauayan City took part in the event, which highlighted both learning sessions and appreciation activities.
Atty. Lovely Mei Dela Cruz served as resource speaker for the specialized module “Kasambahay, Kaagapay sa Pamumuhay,” a productivity-focused training designed to equip domestic workers with practical tips to become more efficient and productive in their daily tasks. The module emphasized the ISTIV work values—Industrious, Systematic, Time-conscious, Innovative, and strong Value for work—aimed at helping Kasambahay enhance their work habits and overall productivity.
The discussion also included essential updates on the minimum wage applicable to Kasambahay in the Cagayan Valley, ensuring that domestic workers are informed of their rights, benefits, and entitlements under existing labor standards.
To make the celebration even more meaningful, participants enjoyed free massage services, medical checkups, grocery items, and a series of raffle draws, adding joy and appreciation to the day’s activities.
The event served as a platform not only to broaden awareness on labor standards and decent work but also to honor the dedication, hard work, and indispensable role of Kasambahay in every Filipino home.
Through continuous advocacy and training initiatives, RTWPB-II and DOLE reaffirmed their commitment to supporting domestic workers and uplifting their welfare, productivity, and access to fair compensation. (Francis Joseph M. Reyes)
