Final tranche of wage hike to benefit Region XII retail and service workers
June 3, 2025
Minimum wage earners from the retail and service sectors in Soccsksargen received the P10-adjustment, increasing their daily minimum wage to P430 effective June 1, 2025.
The said increase is the last in a four-tranche wage increase issued by the RTWPB-XII under Wage Order No. RBXII-24.
RTWPB-XII Chairperson and DOLE Region 12 Regional Director Joel M. Gonzales, CESO III, said the increase aimed at gradually uplifting workers’ income without overburdening small businesses. “This last tranche is a step forward in recognizing the value of our workers in retail and service. We are hopeful that this increase brings some relief and dignity to their hard work,” Director Gonzales added.
Under Wage Order No. RBXII-24, the daily minimum wage of P382 increased in following tranches:
P14 upon effectivity of Wage Order No. RBXII-24 on October 17, 2024, increasing the daily minimum wage to P396
P14 on January 1, 2025, increasing the daily minimum wage to P410
P10 on April 1, 2025, increasing the daily minimum wage to P420, and
P10 on June 1, 20215, increasing the daily minimum wage to P430.
RTWPB-XII Board Secretary Eva Karla H. Lacambra said the structured approach allowed employers time to adjust while providing workers a step-by-step improvement in income, and reflects the government’s effort to respond to inflation and cost-of-living concerns in the region.
The DOLE Region 12 and RTWPB-XII urge all covered establishments to comply with the wage order and to support the aim of promoting fair and decent employment across Soccsksargen.
