Ten outstanding local micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) from MIMAROPA were recognized during the 2025 Regional Productivity Olympics in Calapan City, Oriental Mindoro on June 17, 2025.
This year’s winners demonstrated exceptional practices in productivity enhancement, workforce engagement, and sustainability integration, contributing to stronger local economies and improved quality of life for workers.
In the Agribusiness Sector, winners were Mikko Banana Crackers from Oriental Mindoro, Rey’s Bakeshop from Marinduque, and Three Sisters Home Made Banana Chips, also from Marinduque.
In the Industry Sector, winners were Heart of Islands Holdings, Inc., and Uncle Roy Processed Food Manufacturing, both based in Marinduque, along with Richblitz Sweets from Occidental Mindoro.
In the Service Sector, winners were JBoutique Hotel and Sunmai Beach Bar and Restaurant, both from Palawan; Mansalay Agriculture and Fisheries Development Cooperative (MAFDECO) and NLL Food and Beverage Station (La Aroma Café), both from Oriental Mindoro.
DOLE Regional Director Naomi Lyn C. Abellana, also RTWPB-MIMAROPA Chairperson, praised the winners for elevating productivity into a tool for transformation.
“No enterprise is too small when the mission is clear and the people are committed. Let this recognition inspire others to act, innovate, and lead with purpose,” she said in her keynote address.
The Productivity Olympics (PO) was launched in 2008 as an advocacy program of the NWPC and RTWPBs to promote productivity and quality and to showcase the best productivity improvement programs and practices of MSMEs nationwide.
Regional winners will advance to the national screening, where the national finalists will be selected. These finalists will then face the National Judging Panel, which will determine the national winners. The awarding ceremony is scheduled for October, in line with the celebration of National Quality and Productivity Improvement Month. (Ser Michael Lancelot P. Gamboa)
