The RTWPB-I, in partnership with DOLE and PESO Rosario, conducted a Labor and Employment Education Services (LEES) seminar on January 19, 2026, aimed at fostering a more informed and empowered workforce.
Held at the LGU Rosario Manpower Training Center, the seminar focused on informing both employers and employees about the new minimum wage rates in the region and providing essential updates on statutory benefits, including overtime pay, holiday pay, and leaves.
A total of 22 participants joined the training. Atty. Judi Khenn Faustino-Mojica provided a comprehensive guide on the legalities of wage exemptions and corrections for wage distortions. The discussion clarified the specific criteria under which businesses may seek relief from the wage order.
During her talk, Atty. Faustino-Mojica also emphasized that the establishments can correct wage distortion on their own. She said, “Ang formula po na binibigay namin ay suggestion/s lamang, puwede na kayo mismo sa kumpanya o establishment niyo ay icorrect o gumawa ng sariling formula para maitama ang wage distortion.”
Additionally, RTWPB-I, through Atty. Romina E. Boado-Cabrillos, informed participants that free productivity trainings are available. PESO-Rosario Manager Mr. Alex Flores also held a brief meeting with Board Secretary Cabrillos to discuss the conduct of Productive Career Choice and Work Ethics sessions for graduating students in the Municipality of Rosario, La Union.
By bringing these education services to the grassroots level, the RTWPB-I and its partners aim to reduce workplace disputes and promote voluntary compliance with labor laws. Participants engaged in an interactive forum to address specific local concerns, marking a significant step toward a more transparent and equitable professional environment in the region.
