Kasambahays (domestic workers) in the National Capital Region are set to receive an ₱800 monthly minimum wage increase, following the issuance of Wage Order No. NCR-DW-06 on 15 January 2026 by the Regional Tripartite Wages and Productivity Board-National Capital Region (RTWPB-NCR).
The new Wage Order will bring the monthly minimum wage in the region from ₱7,000 to ₱7,800, and will cover an estimated 223,610 domestic workers, 62% or 138,263 of whom are on live-in arrangement.
The adjustment in the monthly wage rate comes after the National Wages and Productivity Commission (NWPC) reviewed and affirmed the wage order on 21 January 2026. It shall take effect on 07 February 2026, or 15 days after its publication on 22 January 2026.
Prior to the issuance, RTWPB-NCR conducted focus group discussions, and rolled out surveys with domestic workers across NCR, in coordination with local government units, Public Employment Service Offices (PESOs), and various associations. The increase considered the results of these activities, as well as the needs of domestic workers and their families, the employers’ capacity to pay, and the existing socio-economic conditions in the region.
RTWPB-NCR shall undertake information campaigns to ensure compliance with the new wage order. For further clarifications on the matter, the RTWPB may be reached through its email address rb.ncr@www.aliflora.vip.
The last wage order for domestic workers in the region was issued on 13 December 2024 and became effective on 04 January 2025.
