February 3, 2026

RTWPB-IX conducted on January 30, 2026 an “Usapang 2Ps: Pasahod at Productivity” for micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) based in Zambaonga City.

A total of 45 participants representing 38 MSMEs attended the training.

The program featured four integrated sessions: a wage briefing on Wage Order No. RIX-24, a discussion on wage distortion, a seminar-workshop on Lean Management, and technical assistance on Productivity-Based Incentive Schemes (PBIS).

Mr. Joel M. Ijirani, Board Secretary VI, provided a comprehensive discussion on Wage Order No. RIX-24, including the Board’s initiatives before and after its issuance. He also explained the concept of wage distortion, its potential impacts on organizations, and the steps employers and employees may take to address the same.

Meanwhile, Ms. Brenda M. Quintas, IT Officer I, emphasized the value of PBIS in fostering workplace motivation and performance, and facilitated a practical workshop on designing incentive schemes for firms without existing programs.

Engr. Erra Jelle L. Gracia, Senior LEO, Mr. Ric Luke B. Garcia, LEO III, and Ms. Hannah Rose L. Segovia, Administrative Assistant I, led an in-depth discussion on Lean Management. The session introduced participants to essential tools and techniques aimed at enhancing customer value, optimizing resources, and minimizing waste to improve overall business efficiency.

Ms. Ivy Apolinario, Human Resource Officer of DJ Metal Productions, expressed appreciation for the initiative.

“Usapang 2Ps is very timely as we are currently improving our operations. I am also very thankful to DOLE-RTWPB for this opportunity, as this is helpful not just for management, but also for employees like us,” she said.

The Usapang 2Ps program is part of RTWPB-IX’s continuing efforts to strengthen MSMEs across the Zamboanga Peninsula, promoting fair wages, higher productivity, and sustainable business growth. (Brenda M. Quintas)
