RTWPB-VII resolves applications for wage order exemptions

RTWPB-VII has formally resolved on January 12, 2026 all the applications seeking exemption from Wage Order No. ROVII-26 implementing a daily wage increase of P33 to P47 across the region.   A total of ten (10) applications have been declared duly filed, one of which was a deadline-beater and was filed last December 2, 2025, the last day for the application. Pursuant to NWPC Guidelines No. 3 series of 2020, the board has 45 days to act on the applications, the last application being due for resolution on January 16, 2026.  Among the 10 applicants, seven (7) were granted exemption, two (2) were withdrawn and...

Private workers and domestic workers in Central Visayas to receive increases in minimum wage

The RTWPB-VII approved on September 11, 2025 a minimum wage increase ranging from PhP 37.00 – PhP 47.00 for private workers and Php1,000.00 to Php2,000.00 for domestic workers in the region. In Class A, a Php39 increase was granted by the board, increasing the minimum wage rate from Php 501.00 to Php540.00 in the expanded Metro Cebu area. No change in the composition of class A was made. Public hearings set for review on minimum wage for private workers and domestic workers in Central Visayas

RTWPB-VII holds public consultation on the proposed minimum wage adjustment in Central Visayas

The RTWPB-VII launched a regional public consultation on minimum wage adjustment on July 14, 2025, at the DepEd Ecotech Center, Sudlon, Lahug, Cebu City.  The RTWPB-VII conducted the public consultation to gather inputs and evidence in order to make a fair and balanced decision on setting or adjusting the minimum wage in the region.  The event was attended by around 60 participants, including labor leaders, business group representatives, and representatives from the government sector, who voiced their opinions and concerns on the proposed wage hike.  DOLE Regional Director and RTWPB-VII Chairperson...
