Twenty-six micro and small enterprises from Laguna participated in a training program aimed at enhancing enterprise and workers’ productivity on 21 May 2025.
The program, “Productivity Toolbox and Productivity-Based Incentive Schemes (PBIS),” was conducted by the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) – Laguna Provincial Office in partnership with RTWPB-CALABARZON. It introduced participants to productivity standards tailored to address the evolving needs of small businesses.
Ms. Maria Elena De Belen and Mr. Edgar Avila of RTWPB-CALABARZON served as resource persons during the activity.
DTI Laguna Provincial Director Christian Ted O. Tungohan emphasized the need to create a culture of productivity and creativity among local businesses.
“DTI continues to support MSMEs as engines of economic growth and resilience. We believe this will be a fruitful and valuable day that equips MSMEs with techniques, strategies, and hands-on knowledge for enhancing operations and motivating people through performance-based incentives,” Provincial Director Tungohan said.
The Productivity Toolbox offers learning and development through training interventions designed to support MSMEs in adopting systems and technology to improve productivity.
PBIS is a workplace-initiated program on improving the productivity of workers and enterprises to generate savings or additional revenues, which can be shared by enterprises with their workers.
