Unlocking enterprise and workers’ productivity is among the strategic approaches to facilitate the transition to the new normal and enhance business performance and competitiveness to sustain and expand the operations of the businesses. The effects of the pandemic have increased the gig economy’s popularity and paved the way for flexible work to become available in different industries. This phenomenon raises concerns about keeping freelancers engaged as they have limited interpersonal interactions to build and sustain working relationships with their colleagues.

This session will discuss worker engagement as one of the identified strategies to sustain employment for full-time employees and freelancers and its role to encourage long-term productivity, taking into consideration that gig economy is a factor in higher employment opportunities and workplace productivity.

Tied with an effective performance review system, the rewards system proves that workers are noticed and their efforts make a difference. Enhancing productivity incentive programs that are valuable to employees will optimize support from the workers and will result to business success.
