Notable achievements in productivity improvement efforts were among the topics discussed in a meeting with DOLE, RTWPB-V, and Regional Coordinating Council (RCC) representatives in Legazpi City on 04 June 2025.
DOLE Secretary Bienvenido E. Laguesma, Undersecretaries Benjo Santos M. Benavidez and Warren M. Miclat, OIC-Director Edithliane P. Tadeo, DOLE-ROV Regional Director Imelda F. Gatinao, RTWPB-V Board Members, and RCC representatives participated in the meeting.
DOLE ROV Regional Director Gatinao said the meeting was initiated to strengthen coordination between the central and regional offices, highlighting significant accomplishments in labor and employment initiatives, and set the direction for future programs.
“This engagement with Secretary Laguesma and other key officials is a reaffirmation of our shared mission to uplift the lives of Filipino workers and strengthen our commitment to inclusive development. It inspires us to pursue our goals with renewed energy and purpose,” Regional Director Gatinao said.
The RCC members expressed their appreciation for the continued support from the DOLE leadership and pledged to maintain close coordination in implementing future initiatives.
The successful implementation of productivity enhancement programs, delivery of livelihood and employment services, and the strengthened convergence RCC member agencies in responding to the needs of workers and enterprises were among the topics discussed during the meeting.
Updates were shared on the outcomes of workplace productivity interventions, the expanded coverage of employment facilitation services, and the sustained promotion of decent work in the region. It also tackled current challenges and opportunities for further improving service delivery, particularly in supporting MSMEs, enhancing worker welfare, and promoting inclusive employment growth.
Forward-looking strategies were also presented, including scaling up enterprise development assistance, intensifying productivity coaching, and ensuring more responsive program implementation through strengthened inter-agency collaboration.
