A Productivity Toolbox beneficiary known for bags made from junked rubber tires was awarded a Business Enhancement and Adaptation Grant under the Department of Labor and Employment’s Adjustment Measures Program (DOLE-AMP).
A Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) formalizing the grant was signed on October 29, 2025 between Siklo Enterprises and DOLE-NCR led by its Regional Director Atty. Sarah Buena S. Mirasol, who is also RTWPB-NCR Board Chairperson.
The grant aims to support the Siklo’s thrust in strengthening business resilience, improving productivity, and sustaining employment opportunities amid evolving market challenges.
“The recognition of Siklo Enterprises’ commitment to workplace innovation reflects DOLE’s and RTWPB-NCR’s ongoing support for micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) in enhancing competitiveness and adaptability in an ever-evolving business environment,” DOLE-NCR Regional Director Mirasol said.
Siklo Enterprises produces bags and accessories made from upcycled tire inner tubes. Their product lines include backpacks, crossbody bags, slings, totes, convertible bags, “tire bags,” utility bags, and belt bags, among others. The enterprise promotes an eco-ethical lifestyle with the slogan “Upcycle for Eco-ethical Lifestyle.”
Siklo Enterprises participated in the Green Productivity for Greener Industrialization training and the pilot run of the AI sa Bagong Pilipinas module organized by RTWPB-NCR.
The DOLE-AMP offers funding to help MSMEs improve their workers’ skills and adapt to economic disruptions and emerging employment and business opportunities.
The DOLE-AMP grants financial assistance ranging from ₱500,000 to ₱1.5 million for projects which may include any or a combination of capacity-building, business enhancement, just transition, product development, reward systems and productivity improvement, labor compliance, and industrial peace-building measures to help MSMEs adapt and thrive in a changing economy.
