RTWPB-Bicol urges labor, management sectors to join public hearing on wage adjustment

February 20, 2026

The Regional Tripartite Wages and Productivity Board-V (Bicol) is calling on workers, employers, and other concerned stakeholders to take part in the upcoming public hearings on the proposed minimum wage adjustment for private-sector workers in the region.

The RTWPB-V emphasized that broad participation is essential to ensuring a transparent, evidence-based, and inclusive wage-setting process.

According to DOLE Regional Director and RTWPB-V Chairperson Imelda F. Gatinao, active stakeholder strengthens the integrity of wage determination in the region. “Active participation in the public hearing strengthens the wage determination process and upholds the principle of tripartism,” Gatinao said. “This allows both labor and management sectors to be heard and considered in arriving at a well-informed decision on minimum wage adjustment,” she added.

RTWPB-V Board Secretary Francia N. Ocmer noted that all inputs — whether data, position papers, or sector-specific concerns — play a crucial role during wage deliberations. “The views and information presented during the public hearing provide valuable guidance to the Board in assessing the socio-economic realities affecting both workers and employers,” Ocmer said.

The RTWPB-V scheduled two public hearings to gather regional insights:

  • February 23, 2026 at the Naga Regent Hotel, Naga City
  • February 24, 2026 at the Concourse Convention Center, Legazpi City

The RTWPB-V strongly encourages all concerned sectors to attend, as their participation will significantly influence the evaluation and final decision on the proposed minimum wage adjustment for private-sector workers in the region. (Rizza Jane Z. Deblois)
