RTWPB Conducts Lean Management Training for 21 Branches of Cagayan Appliance Center

February 10, 2026

Tuguegarao City – The RTWPB – II provided a full‑day Lean Management Training to the management and personnel of Cagayan Appliance Center on Wednesday at RF Coffee Shop in Cataggaman Pardo, Tuguegarao City. The activity formed part of the agency’s ongoing productivity enhancement initiatives for micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) in the region.

A total of 43 participants representing the company’s 21 branches attended the training. Delegates came from various provinces across Region II, including Cagayan, Isabela, Quirino, Nueva Vizcaya, and the Tabuk branch in Kalinga, underscoring the company’s regional-wide presence.

The activity introduced practical applications of lean management principles aimed at reducing operational inefficiencies, streamlining processes, and strengthening customer service delivery—areas considered vital in the highly competitive retail sector.

Cagayan Appliance Center, one of the region’s long‑established retail chains, was recognized as a Regional Winner and National Finalist in the Productivity Olympics, a nationwide competition honoring enterprises with outstanding productivity programs. As part of RTWPB’s support for high-performing companies, Productivity Olympics winners are given priority access to the Board’s e‑Productivity trainings and technical assistance programs.

In a statement, Human Resource Officer of Cagayan Appliance Center Apalonia Menor highlighted the value of lean practices in the company’s day-to-day operations.

“Lean management is crucial to our business, especially with branches operating across different provinces,” Menor said. “It allows us to eliminate delays, reduce unnecessary costs, and maintain consistent service standards regardless of location. This training equips our teams with tools that will help us improve efficiency and deliver better value to our customers.”

The RTWPB emphasized that adopting lean principles can greatly enhance organizational performance, particularly in retail operations where customer service efficiency, inventory accuracy, and workflow coordination are essential.

The Board reiterated its commitment to supporting enterprises in Region II through sustained training, technical assistance, and the promotion of a culture of continuous improvement. (Francis Joseph M. Reyes)
