RTWPB-I facilitated a labor consultation in the region on September 17, 2025, in San Fernando City, La Union.

Labor unions, workers and labor representatives gathered to reach a consensus regarding their position on the ongoing minimum wage determination in the region. DOLE Regional Director Exequiel Ronie Guzman was also present during the consultation.

The discussion revolved around their positions and the amount of increase they preferred. Additionally, there was also a brief discussion on the increases indicated in the bills filed in Congress.

In proposing an amount, Lyndon Dumo, a LUECO employee said: “It is important that we also take into consideration the socio-economic conditions of the region.”

After a thorough discussion, the labor sector submitted their position paper to the secretariat.
