Over 200 workers underwent comprehensive training on productivity and wages during the Capacity Development Training and Learning Sessions for Workers in the Informal Sector held at Cauayan City, Isabela on May 29, 2025.
The activity, organized by RTWPB-II in partnership with the DOLE Isabela Field Office, allowed participants to engage in interactive discussions, coaching sessions, and receive DOLE assistance, including the release of Tulong Panghanapbuhay sa Ating Disadvantaged Workers (TUPAD) wages to qualified beneficiaries.
Mr. Darlo Battung of RTWPB-II discussed the importance of fair wages and productivity in strengthening enterprises and uplifting the informal workforce. He highlighted how improved productivity can support sustainable wage growth and contribute to inclusive economic development.
“As someone who has been working in the informal sector for years, this training gave me hope and confidence to take the next step toward formalizing my small business. I now understand how productivity and fair wages can lead to sustainable growth,” Ms. Marlhyn M. Sanchez, a food vendor from Cauayan City and one of the event participants, said.
RTWPB-II Board Secretary Atty. Lovely Mei R. Dela Cruz said the conduct of the orientation helped reinforce the importance of linking productivity with fair compensation, in line with the government’s goal of promoting decent work and sustainable livelihoods.
