RTWPB-II strengthens advocacy efforts for the effective implementation of latest wage orders

October 29, 2025

RTWPB-II has intensified its advocacy and information campaign to ensure that the public clearly understands the provisions of the newly implemented Wage Order No. RTWPB II-24 for private sector workers and Wage Order No. 02-DW-07 for domestic workers (kasambahay).

In a press briefing conducted today through the Tipon-Tipan sa PIA organized by the Philippine Information Agency Region II, RTWPB-II officials explained the salient features of the new wage orders, including their effective dates, coverage, and rationale. The activity forms part of the Board’s continuing efforts to disseminate accurate information and promote compliance among employers and workers in the Cagayan Valley region.

To strengthen implementation, RTWPB-II has issued official communications to all Public Employment Service Offices (PESOs) across the region for the posting of new wage rate tarpaulins in their respective local government units and the distribution of copies of the wage orders to establishments and concerned stakeholders. This initiative ensures that information on the new minimum wage rates reaches all affected workers and employers, even in far-flung areas.

RTWPB-II is also set to participate in an interview with the Cagayan Provincial Information Office on November 3, where officials will further discuss the details and implications of the new wage orders. This collaboration with local media highlights the Board’s commitment to transparency and accessibility of information.

In partnership with the National Conciliation and Mediation Board (NCMB) Region II, the RTWPB-II will also hold “Usapang 2Ps: Pasahod at Productivity” on November 7, 2025 in Nueva Vizcaya. The forum will gather labor unions and organized workers from across the region to discuss the new wage orders, productivity programs, and mechanisms that promote industrial harmony and equitable growth.

Moreover, in coordination with the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) Regional Office No. 2, RTWPB-II will conduct Employers’ Forums in Cauayan City on November 13 and Santiago City on November 14, where employers will be guided on compliance with the new wage orders and encouraged to adopt productivity-based pay schemes and workplace improvement practices.

RTWPB-II continues to work closely with DOLE Field Offices to monitor compliance through regular labor inspections and ensure that employers adhere to the new wage rates while protecting workers’ rights. A feedback mechanism has also been set up to provide workers with a channel to report any violations or non-compliance issues.

Through these coordinated efforts, RTWPB-II reinforces its commitment to ensuring the effective and transparent implementation of Wage Order No. RTWPB II-24 and Wage Order No. 02-DW-07 across the region. By strengthening partnerships with local government units, labor groups, and employers, the Board continues to uphold its mandate of rationalizing wage structures and promoting productivity-based pay systems that support the overall goal of decent and gainful employment.
