The RTWPB – III, in partnership with the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) – Tarlac Field Office, and the Capas Local Government Unit, advanced its advocacy to protect domestic workers’ rights and instill productivity values through the 2026 Araw ng Kasambahay regional celebration on 6 February 2026 in Capas, Tarlac.
Under its “Produktibong Kasambahay, Kaagapay sa Buhay” training module, RTWPB-III oriented around 100 domestic workers of their rights under Republic Act 10361 or Batas Kasambahay. This includes the importance of employment contract and barangay registration, social benefits (SSS, PhilHealth, Pag-IBIG/HDMF), and updates on the current minimum wage of domestic workers in Central Luzon under Wage Order No. RBIII-DW-05.
Key topics also include the promotion of right attitude and work values to enhance productivity and practical ways to ensure safety measures such as proper food handling. The discussion likewise covered clear steps to follow during natural disasters and emergencies, including fires, earthquakes, and typhoons.
This learning session then supported the event’s core objective to champion the rights of domestic workers and provide them with on-site assistance. (Kiara Francesca D. Songsong)
